We've been told since the beginning of the Iraq war that dissent is patriotic. That just because you protest the way, it doesn't mean you hate America. These are both statements that I can agree with. However, just because I agree with those statements doesn't mean that I think that most protesters are anything more than idiotic scum, as is being demonstrated at the RNC this week.

As the Connecticut delegation was getting off a bus near the Xcel Center, a group of protesters broke free from authorities and attacked the delegates.

Connecticut delegate Rob Simmons told FOX 9 that a group of protesters came toward his delegation and tried to rip the credentials off their necks and sprayed them with a toxic substance.

The unknown substance burned their eyes and stained their clothes.

One 80-year-old member of the delegation had to be treated for injuries, and several other delegates had to rinse their eyes and clothing.

Can't you just feel the patriotism just dripping from them? Later in the article you find out protesters were also throwing sandbags and bags of cement off of overpasses at buses carrying RNC delegates.

Because apparently the best way to win people to your cause is to act like a murderous fucktard. I don't know what the Minneapolis police are us to these days, but they need to taser the hell out of these people, and then drag their twitching bodies off to jail for quite a long time.

Update: Had to bump this post to add this story to it. Apparently not satisfied with throwing bleach into an old woman's eyes, these modern day patriots anarchist protesters then attacked a bus load of cub scouts who had the audacity to accept an invitation to present the colors to open the RNC.

A little later, a busload of Cub Scouts were en route to the convention, where they were to present the colors to open the convention. A group of protesters--liberals, Obama supporters, or whatever--blocked the road, surrounded the bus, and attacked it, rocking the bus back and forth, denting and scratching the sides, and generally terrifying the children trapped inside. The left-wing protesters attacked a number of buses in the same way, but there is something especially despicable about attacking a group of Cub Scouts.

Many on the left are fond of claiming that we have a fascist president, or that Bush has so eroded our civil liberties as to leave us living in a "police state".

This is what a police state looks like. Criticize the government, get arrested, be found a few hours later with a gunshot wound to the temple.

Magomed Yevloyev, owner of the www.Ingushetiya.ru Web site, was arrested at Nazran airport in southern Russia after disembarking a flight, according to a statement by media watchdog Reporters Without Borders. Yevloyev was later found dumped on the side of the road, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head, the news site's deputy editor, Ruslan Khautiyev, told the Associated Press. Yevloyev later died at a hospital, Khautiyev said.

If things were really as bad here in the good ol' U. S. of A., I know of quite a few liberal bloggers who would have been found lying in ditches a long time ago. But oddly enough, they are allowed to continue blogging, and no one has kicked in their doors or hauled them off to the concentration camps.

Meanwhile, people in real danger, in countries like Russia, are genuinely putting their lives on the line to speak the truth about what is going on in their countries.

What do you think the chances are that anyone on a nightly newscast would mention that a Russian dissident was arrested and subsequently murdered by the police? I'm thinking slim to none, as this doesn't meet their "communists as good guys" narrative.

Alberta's human rights commission has ruled against Rev. Stephen Boission in a case concerning hate speech. His crime was the fact that he included parts of the bible that call homosexuality as a sin and immoral.

Along the same lines, Mark Steyn is being pursued by the B.C. Humans Rights Tribunal for what he has written about Muslims.

My question. You think any of these bastions of free speech will go after a single Imam for their views on homosexuality, Jews, or Kafirs?

A law which does not apply to all equally is no law at all. Just as a freedom that does not apply to all equally is not truly a freedom.

Either everyone is allowed free speech, or no one is. Unless you're promoting the liberal value of "free speech", which means free speech for everyone, as long as you agree with me.

Senators, in their infinite wisdom, are voting today about penalizing oil companies for making a profit. Or as they put it, taxing the hell out of the companies until they are left making a "reasonable" profit.

This is, in a word, asinine. This country is founded on freedom and capitalism. The freedom to do business and make a profit unfettered by a cumbersome central government. Before you get your panties in a wad, yes, I do believe in a certain amount of federal regulation, but that certain amount is much, much smaller than anything that these communists Senators are advocating.

Yesterday I was at my chiropractor's office when we began discussing oil prices. I, of course, advocating drilling domestically, building more refineries, building more nuclear reactors and finally pursuing alternative energy sources.

His response was to first spend what seemed like forever complaining about "excessive" oil profits, followed by his support for the windfall profit tax. Then came the bombshell.

"What we ought to do is what old Chavez has done. Tell them they've got 30 days to clean up their act and then we're going to nationalize the oil industry."

I stood there with my mouth hanging open, not believing that someone as seemingly well educated as this man is could advocate something like this.

I reminded him that we live in America, where you are not only free to start your own business, but should be encouraged to do so. And that once you have that business, you are free to make as much money as possible, enabling you to employ as many people as possible. I also pointed out that most everyone I know has money in 401ks or mutual funds that are invested in oil stock, which is making money for them for retirement.

I have another appointment with him tomorrow morning. When we're done, I'm going to push my point a little further. When it comes time to pay my bill, I'm going to point out that he has an office building with at least 5 rooms in it that aren't being used, he drives a German luxury car, and takes off two afternoons a week to go golfing. Obviously he is making too much profit, and as such I don't think I should have to pay as much as he's charging. I think $5 per visit is perfectly reasonable, and if he can't live on that, he should work all day, every day during the week. Because it's obvious that doing business the way that he is, he is making an obscene profit.

You think he'll get the point?

A couple of highly intellectual hollywood types took to airing their respective stupidities this weekend.
Yes, that is Sharon Stone. What the hell happened there? Her breasts look like they are doing their damndest to look as detached from the rest of her body as possible.

Anyway, Sharon obviously heard about the earthquake in China and had these deep thoughts to share about it.

"I’m, you know, not happy about the way the Chinese are treating the Tibetans, because I don’t think anyone should be unkind to anyone else. And so, I have been very concerned about how to think and what to do about that because I don’t like … that. And then I’ve been, this, you know, concerned about, oh, how should we deal with the Olympics, because they’re not being nice to the Dalai Lama who is a good friend of mine. And then all this earthquake and all this stuff happened, and I thought, is that karma? When you’re not nice that the bad things happen to you?"

Translation = I'm a dumb ass and it's been a while since I showed it off in public.

Apparently Sharon is unable to distinguish between the Chinese government and the Chinese people who have no control over what their government does, since it's, you know, a communist country that allows very little in the way of personal freedom. Idiot.


Second we have Jessica Lange, who took the happy occasion of her daughter's college graduation to air her disdain for President Bush.

"We are living in an America that, in the last seven and a half years, has waged an unnecessary war, established prison camps, condoned torture, employed corporate armies, eliminated the right of habeas corpus, practiced extraordinary rendition, and believe me, this is only a partial list," Lange said.

Nothing inspires new graduates like telling them that their country is going to hell in a hand basket. Luckily we have the Obamessiah to save us all from ourselves.

Thank G-d we have Hollywood to keep us all informed of what is important in this world.

It seems that those peace-loving followers of hope and change aren't so peaceful after all.

Reading the comments from those ready to start a riot should Clinton take the nomination both amuses me and terrifies me.

It terrifies me because this is how we're raising our children, or allowing them to be raised by the state. War is bad, but throwing stones at a convention if you don't like the outcome is okay. You know, because "No Justice" = "No Peace".

Amused because it's fun to watch the types who want to form drum circles outside recruiting stations and pray to gaia for peace on earth are the first ones to threaten violence if you don't adopt the view of the world.

No matter what happens, it's going to be fun to watch the next 8 months.

Today Democratic Rep. Pete Stark lost his fucking mind during debate trying to persuade congress to override the president's veto of the SCHIP bill.

"Where are you going to get that money? Are you going to tell us lies like you're telling us today? Is that how you're going to fund the war? You don't have money to fund the war or children. But you're going to spend it to blow up innocent people if we can get enough kids to grow old, enough for you to send to Iraq to get their heads blown off for the president's amusement," Stark said.

"President Bush's statements about children's health shouldn't be taken any more seriously than his lies about the war in Iraq. The truth is that Bush just likes to blow things up in Iraq, in the United States, and in Congress. I urge my colleagues to vote to override his veto," he continued.

So the basics are, Bush thinks this bill is an overblown monstrosity that extends government entitlements to people that don't need them. He proposes extending the existing program by $5 billion, to cover more lower income children. You know what the State Children's Health Insurance Program was designed for. Democrats, on the other hand, want to use this as one more step toward universal health care. As a result, they are portraying Bush's veto as REPUBLICANS WANT YOUR KIDS TO DIE.

It's the biggest load of horse shit I've seen in quite some time. And I've seen quite a lot.

The along comes this fucking fruitcake Pete Stark, who is a raving lunatic, who portrays this as an either or proposition. Something the Democrats are fond of doing. Either we fight this war, or we provide health care for our kids, but we can't do either. And we all know that if Bush has to make the choice, he would much rather watch footage of soldiers being offed then provide insurance for our poor children. Because Bush is a heartless bastard who feeds on the blood of dying soldiers.

Well, I have a news flash for Representative dipshit from California. One of these things is a mandate from the constitution, the other is not. Care to guess which one? Let me remind you..

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

So there you have it, moron. The president, unlike you, is trying to do his job. You, on the other hand, are pandering to the most base instincts of your constituency, and are trying to turn the entire country into wards of the state.

The more I read this cartoon, the more pissed off I get. I would love to see this fuck-tard say this to the face of anyone in uniform. He's so fucking brave, sitting in his office, drawing cartoons that compare U. S. Soldiers to suicide bombers. He doesn't have a fucking clue what he is talking about, but I'm sure the left will celebrate his bravery for daring to stand up against those who say we should support the troops. Mitt Romney is getting a bad rap for strapping the family dog to the roof of their station wagon. Oh yeah, and it was more than a dozen years ago that this occurred.

Animal rights activists are, typically, outraged. This is my favorite quote.

The president of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals says — "If you wouldn't strap your child to the roof of your car, you have no business doing that to the family dog."

Please allow me to point out, as a parent and a life-long dog owner, that you do plenty of things to your dog that you would never do to your child, such as:

• Feed your dog out of a bowl on the kitchen floor


• Have your dog spayed or neutered before it hits puberty.


• Make your dog live in a small, uninsulated house in the back yard, year 'round.


• Put your dog in a small box in the bed of your pickup to transport it.(They are called dog boxes, and they are abundant in the south.)


• Rub your dog's nose in the little present (s)he left in the den.


• Cage your dog while you are at work so you don't have to hire someone to watch it.

Really the list could go on for days. Granted, this doesn't necessarily mean I think you should strap your dogs carrier to the roof of your car, but I also think PETA is completely full of shit.

You want to know what pisses me off about being a conservative? The fact that my political views are often interpreted as hate. I'm against affirmative action because I hate black people. I'm against the current immigration amnesty bill because I hate Hispanics. The list goes on and on.

If you want to see hate, you don't go to Republican rallies. Oh, I've seen lunatics at them, too. But they are the exception. But if you live in the south west, next time MEChA is having a rally, stop by and see how they're acting. The picture above is from a group of peace loving protesters on their way to L.A. on March 27, 2006 when they decided to stop and deface the flag at Montebello High School. Notice it wasn't the students of that school who did this, and the school had to go into lock-down because the protesters turned violent after the students wouldn't join in.

It reminds me of the idiots I saw in D.C. in March, protesting for peace while carrying Cuban flags and wearing Guevara on their shirts. I'm sure most of them couldn't tell you who he was, let alone anything about the thousands of people he slaughtered. But man does he look good on a t-shirt.

Some days I want to just say "fuck it" and stop thinking about politics. I've spent most of my life consumed by it, and it gets tiring at times. But then I look around me, at the people I love, and I wonder what would happen if enough of us just said, "fuck it" and stopped caring. Then the likes of the the social anarchists, or Code Pink, or ANSWER, or one of a million other barking moonbat will be deciding the fate of my children, and I'm not ready to turn our country over to them yet.

So I continue. I teach my children what I believe, and why. I talk to friends and neighbors and coworkers.* I write my congressmen, and I write my President. He may be trying to collectively bend over his base and give us a quick stiff one, but he's still our President, so I let him know what I think about, well, everything.

Is it going to change the world? Probably not, but it lets me sleep better at night.

*And by talking to these people, I really do mean just having conversations, and I usually don't start them. But if someone asks what I think about a subject, they better be prepared to actually hear my opinion, because once you invite me to proselytize, I'm all up in that stuff.

Heather Morijah thought she would be cute and order personalized plates for her silver Prius that say "MPEACHW". Someone saw her out driving and complained to the DMV, which then recalled her plates.

The agency “is in receipt of a written complaint about your personalized plates,” the letter says. “With this complaint I am sorry to inform you that the set of plates MPEACHW are being recalled. . . . You will have 10 days from the date of receiving this letter to surrender the plates.”

Long story short, she called the ACLU, had a press conference, and the DMV backed down.

Personally, I agree that she should be able have the plates, no problem. She has every right to drive around looking like a moron. If I passed her car on the interstate, I would do the same thing I do when I pass other morons with "Impeach W" bumper stickers.. shake my head at the lack of education in this country and keep going.

Now we get to the part where I take issue with Ms. Morijah. In explaining why she wants Bush impeached, she had this to say.

“We both feel very strongly about this administration for a large number of reasons. The big number one would be leading us into an imperialistic occupation in Iraq to get their oil, and lying to the American people at the expense of many American lives and many Iraqi lives. And number two, the horrifying damage they’re inflicting on the environment in this country and in the world.”

Imperialistic occupation to get their oil? Really? That's the best you can come up with?

Here's a question for all you nut-jobs who think we invaded Iraq for the sole purpose of taking their oil. How much do you pay per gallon right now? Because a week ago I was paying $3.09. Today it dropped to $2.88, but that is still ridiculous. If we've been stealing their oil for the last four years, why haven't oil prices dropped?

Oh, wait. I know. It's because the evil oil companies are stealing all that oil, but still jacking up the prices to inflate their profits. Silly me, I nearly forgot.

I wonder how these people find their way to work and back each day, because they are, to put it mildly, idiots.

Those on the left love to talk about the free exchange of ideas. Hillary complains about the politics of personal destruction, and why can't we just debate the issues. Universities brag about the fact that they are shaping young minds to question the world, to see truth. Newspapers label themselves as one of the last bastions of free speech.

Yet are they really?

It seems most every day there are stories of free speech being stifled, and of lop-sided opinions being masqueraded as "news".

Chris Simcock, of the minuteman project, attempts to speack at MSU, and has to wait 20 minutes for the police to clear the room. Being such strong advocates of the 1st amendment, they wouldn't even allow him to speak.

In 2002 former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was forced to cancel a speech at Concordia University because of Islamic protesters. So great is their hatred of him, that he wasn't allowed to speak to a Jewish organization on campus without enraging the protesters.

The same holds true when our Vice President attempts to speak. Or when a scientist offers an opinion that global warming is something other than settled science. Or when the President's surge appears to be working, and Democrats rush to find microphones to pronounce our surrender.

Leftists will not tolerate an opinion other than their own to be heard in this country. We have become a country of hate crimes and thought control. Don't you dare say something that may offend someone. We just won't stand for it.

In Tennessee they want to prosecute someone for putting bacon in a Koran as a hate crime. The same with middle schoolers who left a bag containing a ham steak on a table full of Somali Muslims.

Don Imus was fired for using the phrase "nappy headed ho's" about the Rutgers Women's basketball team. Jimmy the Greek was fired in 1988 for saying that blacks were bred to be better athletes.

What do all these have in common? We're attempting to legislate thoughts. If I shoot you because I don't like you, I'm prosecuted for murder. If I shoot you because you happen to belong to some protected group, it becomes a hate crime, and I'm really prosecuted.

Newscasters, being slaves to their own white guilt, completely ignored the murders of Channon Christian and Cristopher Newsome in January of this year, largely because they were a white couple who were murdered by 5 black men and women. Since this doesn't fit neatly into the image the news wants to portray, they quietly bury it while still running stories of the rape that never happened at Duke.

Newspapers in America and Europe refuse to run the Danish Mohammad cartoons, for fear of offending Muslims. However, they had no problem at all showing Piss Christ, the Madonna covered in dung and the Chocolate Jesus.

When I wear my GOP baseball cap, I see the way some people stare at me. I know that in their minds, they are wondering if I'm secretly a nazi, or if I want to take away the medicine from their grandparents.

How did we get to this place as a country? How is it that it has become acceptable to attack some people (white men, Christians, anyone in the Republican party), but you can't even have a debate with or about certain people or groups without being accused of wanted to destroy that group? (Al Sharpton, immigration, Islam)

I happen to support the idea of securing our borders. It has nothing to do with hating Mexicans, or wanting to restrict immigration. It has everything to do with wanting to know who is coming in to our country, and keeping us safe. I think Al Sharpton should be sent to prison for the things he has done over the past 20 years, but it has nothing to do with the fact that he is black. It has everything to do with the fact that he is an opportunistic race baiter, who throws accusations at everyone else in the world, but won't even apologize for being wrong after he was convicted and forced to pay a hefty fine. And these are just a few examples.

You may disagree with me on every single point I have ever brought up on this site, but I'm not going to ban you from visiting, or erase your comments, because I believe in the free exchange of ideas. We can debate an issue until we are both tired of hearing the sound of our voice, or one of us persuades the other to their side. But if you disagree with me, I'm not going to try to make it illegal for you to think it.

If you'll pardon me borrowing the phrase, but I have a dream. A dream where ideas are debated on their merit, and decided on facts. I have a dream where knee-jerk, emotional responses to situations don't receive national attention just because they fit into that particular newscaster's politics. I have a dream where a man or woman is not judged by the (D) or (R) after their name, but by the content of their character. I have a dream that we will return to the rugged individualism of our forefathers, where someone can be bullied or called names and their response isn't to plan a mass murder, but to rise above it and go on to succeed in life. I have a dream where the Western way of life is held up as an example of all that is good in the human race. That people are encouraged to pursue their dreams, start businesses, and succeed without the fear of being called greedy, or being accused of destroying the planet because they wish to make life better for their fellow man. I have a dream where politicians actually want to serve the greater good, rather than their over-inflated egos.

I may not live long enough to see these dreams come to fruition, but I hope that my children, and my children's children will be able to walk down the street, hand-in-hand with someone of another ideology.

What is up with this Maya Angelou wannabe at the convocation yesterday? Most of her poem was quite good, and exactly what the student body needed to hear. It is a tragedy that they did not deserve, but what the hell does that have to do with the baby elephant in Africa? Or the Mexican child? Or the Appalachian baby? And whatever else she was rambling on about?

When bad things happen, there is always someone ready to use it to advance some political agenda. And yes, politics is perfectly acceptable in discussing this, which is why I included my views on gun ownership in my post below. However, when you are at a convocation to honor the dead, you should not take that time to compare innocent students being gunned down in their classrooms to elephants being killed for their ivory. The two have no moral equivalence at. all.

She was not so much about cheering for the Hokies as she was about promoting herself. Waving her arms around, as if to say, "Look at me. Aren't I wonderful?" Get over yourself woman.

I'm sure we'll be seeing her on Oprah within a week.

Danny Dietz, pictured here, was killed while conducting counter-terrorism operations in Kunar Province, Afghanistan. Coalition forces located the sailor while conducting a combat search and rescue operation July 4, 2005 in Kunar Province. He was awarded the Navy Cross for his actions in battle, and his hometown of Littleton, CO is planning a memorial in his honor.

Some parents in the community are opposed to the memorial.

They say the statue, depicting Dietz clutching an automatic rifle, glorifies violence. In Berry Park, it would be within blocks of three schools and two playgrounds.

"I don't think young children should be exposed to that in that way - unsupervised by their parents or any adults," said Emily Cassidy, one of the mothers.

People in this country have lost. their. minds.

Danny Dietz is a hero, and his life should be memorialized. Every child in Littleton, CO should be taken to that statue and told about the war, why we fight, and how he died to protect their freedoms.

I bet these same people are all for teenage girls getting abortions without notifying their parents, but good Lord, don't let them see an image depicting someone holding a weapon that has a positive connotation to it.

The fact that they can compare a statue of a fallen military hero to the shootings at Columbine absolutely escapes me. How can you draw any kind of parallels between idiots rampaging through a school, indiscriminately killing innocent civilians with someone who has taken up arms in defense of his country?

I try to stay open minded about some things, examining both sides of an issue. But in this case, there is no way I can wrap my mind around what these people think.
