Interesting Statistic

A new report from Family Security Matters says that more Americans are being killed by illegal aliens then by the Iraq war.

To date we have a little over 3,000 soldiers killed in the war on terrorism, but according to the Family Security Matters report, 2,158 murders are being committed by illegal aliens every year. That's about 15% of homicides reported by the F.B.I., which is about three times the representation of illegal aliens in the general population.

How long till we have weeping mothers of those killed by illegal immigrants being given a national stage to call for the securing of our borders, a la Cindy Sheehan? This doesn't fit in with the world view of those in the MSM, so don't hold your breath waiting on it.

"Mike Cutler, a former senior special agent with the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (the former INS), is a fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies and an advisor to Family Security Matters (FSM)."

Funny... Two things scream out at me as I read the story... One, there is no link to the data used to compile the results and two, the person making the claims is not only a FORMER INS employee, he is now currently an employee of a rather hardline anti-immigration group... LOL... I love data skewing as much as the next guy, but this is really weak.

The data sample should show where these illegal aliens are from... are they from Cuba? Haiti? China? Mexico? Honduras?

The funny part of the whole immigration debate is that it boils down to racism in my honest opinion... some rich white men and women can't stand the idea of some brown skinned people actually living in their areas so they look for data to support their argument that allowing these people into their communities is a real dangerous problem that must be dealt with... why no just go after blacks as well because they are just as dangerous...

I'll not even begin to try to deny that racism is alive and well in America. I see it every day. However, when I speak about illegal immigration, it has nothing to do with my like or dislike for any race, it has to do with my belief in the rule of law. If you'll notice, neither the report nor my comments on i contained any mention about the race of anyone involved, merely that they are in the country illegally.

In my small neighborhood my next door neighbor is from Juarez, the family across the street is black, and the apartment below me is a mixed couple; she is white, he is Cambodian. Oddly enough, we don't have any problems, we all get along fine, and no one uses ethnic slurs, tries to run anyone else out of the neighborhood, or bothers anyone else. The other interesting thing is that we are all the product of legal immigration.

Around the corner there is a trailer park. There have been several raids on meth labs in this trailer park, and oddly enough, most of them involve illegal aliens. I don't care if they're from Mexico, some South American country or if they're here illegally from a white, European country. When you break the law, you there should be consequences. When you enter a country illegally, you should be sent back to your country of origin, no matter what the country is.

hahah... most of the meth labs here on maui are run by white people... in san diego, where i grew up, they were run by bikers (white people again). I am sure there are many people of many races that commit crimes... but the bottom line behind any kind of immigration laws being touted by these "seal our border" types is downright fear and loathing of people of color Frank...

Anyone with any understanding of the US economic situation will be against criminalizing illegal entry... do you want to pay $9 for a hamburger? Or upwards of $300 for a pair of levis? Or $20 for a box of wheaties?

I agree that there should be immigration reform, but I dont think persecuting or criminalizing being an illegal alien is the best way to go about it.
