I Hate To Say I Told You So.. But
Remember my post a few days ago about what a wonderful country we live in? Well, here is yet another examples.
Because no matter what the nightly news tries to tell you, Americans are essentially good, caring, giving people. Except for those right-wing, extremist, gun loving Jesus freaks. I'm sure they didn't give anything at all, being too busy clinging to their religion and their guns.
At least according to Obamessiah.
Hey, here's a thought for you to ponder. What if the government weren't busy trying to grab as much of your money as it could to redistribute among the masses. Do you think that if we had to rely on charities to help us instead of the nanny state that maybe charitable giving would increase and people would still be okay? You know, like how the world worked before the Great Society?
Americans donated $306 billion last year, according to preliminary figures contained in the closely watched annual report from the nonprofit Giving USA Foundation. After adjusting for inflation, donations rose only 1 percent from the roughly $295 billion donated in 2006.So, despite high gas prices and all the fact that, according to the Democratic party, the country is falling to pieces, Americans have once again given in record numbers. Giving didn't grow as much as it has in previous years, but it still increased.

I don't think you have much to worry about the "obamessiah," Frank... i am sure one of your commmitted, well-meaning, christofacists friends will simply use one of their favorite assault rifles to eliminate the possibility of a black president thereby alleviating you from the disgrace of having a president you disagree with... let's keep america clean for americans!

I'm sure that's exactly what's going to happen, seeing as how there is such a rash of Christians assassinating people all over the world because of their moral outrage over whatever the latest assault on Christianity. I can't begin to count how many beheadings there have been, along with burning flags and car bombs all in the name of Christ. Especially of minorities.
Only you would take two posts about the basic goodness of this country and twist it into a story about assassinating Obama. Which, by the way, helps prove my point exactly about the view most people have of where they live.
Ask a group of conservatives to tell you why they love America and be prepared to stand a listen to a lecture about freedom and liberty and the goodness of this country. Ask someone on the other side of the aisle and be prepared for the deafening silence.

I think you BELIEVE you wrote a post about the inherent goodness of Americans... but you just couldn't refrain from referencing the impending doom that will be brought about once obama comes to power.
And for the record, Americans are per capita the richest humans on the planet and thereby can afford to give more than the rest of the world... calling attention to the fact that americans give more per capita than the rest of the nations of the world is a little like calling attention to a shiny penny saved when you are flushing billions down the toilet.
Considering the economic hole that the US will be left in once Mr. Bush and his corporate cronies abscond for their book tours and quiet life on their palatial estates, it seems funny to me that this is what you choose to focus on.
And lets face facts... not one american would have been beheaded if we weren't out playing guns and ammo in a foreign nation that has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with 9/11
You can continue to believe and perpetuate a myth about Iraq and Terrorism, but few people are listening anymore frank... Bush has THE LOWEST ever approval rating as a president... less than 25% of the nation believes he is doing a good job... if we extrapolate that at least 50% of the population is Republican, that means HALF of all republicans think he's a shitty president and I would imagine the ridiculous war we are mired in now has a whole lot to do with it.
And if Obama wins and he is assasinated, you can bet it will be someone who is Christian (or claims to be), white, and racist.

You're right, no Americans were beheaded until we went into Iraq. But would you care to explain more than 3,00 dead on 9/11? Or how about the attack on the U.S.S. Cole, or the first attack on the world trade center? Or let's go back a little farther.
How about TWA Flight 840, where Palestinians detonated a bomb, killing 4 Americans in 1986?
Pan Am Flight 103, allegedly perpetrated by Libyans?
1991: Iraqi agents planted bombs at the U.S. Ambassador to Indonesia’s home residence and at the USIS library in Manila.
Serious, the list goes on and on, but people want to bury their heads in the sand and pretend like we haven't been under attack my militant Islamists for decades. Hell, we were fighting the Barbary pirates (Muslim, by the way) in the early 1900's. One of these days you will either wake up and recognize the threat, or enough people will be convinced that this is all just Republican propaganda and vote in an appeaser like Obama or another Bill Clinton, who did little more than a few token bombings to draw attention away from the fact that he couldn't keep his dick in his pants, and you see what that led to.
So yes, please continue to paint Christians as the face of evil in the modern world. I'm sure there are two or three lurking in the bushes outside your house right now, plotting their next evil move.
